Testimonials

The following are excerpts from actual emails I’ve received from those who have commissioned my quilts. They probably mean as much to me as the quilts do to to the recipients.  Either way, there’s a lot of heart on both sides!

4-002Amy, the quilts arrived and they are wonderful!  Very nicely crafted and SO MANY details!  Thank you so much!  My sons will be really touched, as will their wives!  I’m grateful to have connected with you, and will remember your sensiivity during a sad time.  They’re just very, very special!  You do important work.
Gratefully, Jeanie

Cowboy Memory Quilt detail 4I got the quilt today and it is incredible!  Truly.  I have never seen anything like it and it brought tears not only to my eyes, but to the eyes of all of my female staff members as well (all nine of them!).  What a gift and your talent is remarkable. It is more than I ever imagined it and I cannot wait to give it to my son.  He is so excited about it.  I know it will bring him comfort during an awful time!

My husband’s parents were so touched by the sample quilt you made when I gave it to them at Christmas.  They both started crying and saying how it was the most special gift anyone had ever given them – and they loved your design!  Thank you, really, for what you are doing!

Amy, I want to share some things with you. I am so glad I asked you to make the second quilt.
Today Mariko was given her quilt. I had it wrapped and she carefully unwrapped it, she opened up the quilt and seeing the horseshoe side said it was really nice. She turned it over and quietly looked, then she touched a square and said that looks familiar. She started to tear up realizing it was a quilt of Jay’s shirts. She hugged the quilt holding it close and finally the tears came. Her mom and I talked with her letting her know that we know how special Jay was to her and how special she was to him. Even as they left Mariko was holding the quilt next to her chest.
My quilt. When I sent the shirts I didn’t realize I sent the shirt we got married in. When I noticed the white shirt that you used the sleeve I thought, wow..that is the shirt Jay married me in. How did you know there was something special there?
I think as you put so much into making the quilts that you should know the effects they bring..the memories. The first evening I kept looking at my quilt and I could and still see all the memories in the shirts he wore the most. All but the white one that you did something special with and I didn’t even realize I sent it. That one has its very own special memory.

I just wanted to tell you what a WONDERFUL job you did on Rachel’s memory quilt!!!! Every time I see it on her bed–I have to stop and look at it–not only at the beautiful quality of the quilt itself–but at how beautifully you put all the different panels together and incorporated the “Tweety Bird” throughout! Whenever I see it–I’m drawn to it and it brings a smile to my face remembering all the memories that go along with each panel! ********************************************************************************

Small Memory Quilts from bow ties

I have to let you know how wonderful and meaningful the beautiful wall-hangings are that you designed around the ties that Mark wore and our family number-22.  We all were so touched and happy to have such a memorable piece to commemorate our love for Mark. How lucky that Siobhan found you and how great that she followed through, to the benefit of the family!

As you can imagine, as Mark’s mother, it affected me deeply and brought tears to my eyes and a bit of pain to my heart, but nevertheless, I will cherish it and do thank you for your wonderful craft.

  1. Hi Amy–I know this is LONG overdue–but just wanted to tell you what a WONDERFUL job you did on Rachel’s memory quilt!!!! I also like the pictures you posted on your website to show an example of a quilt made out of T-Shirts and the picture you put up of us giving it to Rachel at her graduation dinner after her graduation from UVA! Thank you SO much for your WONDERFUL work on something that Rachel will have and treasure for the rest of her life! You were so pleasant to work with through e-mails and telephone calls! You even put something else on hold to get it done before Rachel’s graduation day and I really want to thank you for that–it was definitely above and beyond! I will most definitely recommend you in the future and who knows–maybe even have another quilt or something else done for myself or someone else 🙂 All the best, Janice
